Summary Draft #1 Cross Island Line Site Investigations

In the article “Nature Group Seeks More Information on Impact of Cross Island Line Site Investigations” Neo (2018) states that nature lovers want to know detailed information about the effects of the drilling works in the Macritchie forest. Neo mentioned that Land Transport Authority (LTA) had observed the camera traps captured animals that were risk of extinction. The drilling of 16 boreholes were to determine the alignment for Cross Island Line by either digging under the nature reserve or by skirting around it. Neo claimed that when being asked of the outcome, LTA chose to remain silent. Neo found that the authority did not release information on the exact number of animals sighting from the start and end of work. Volunteers are expecting more comprehensive findings on the environmental impact and to clear the public’s doubts.

  1. Hi Calvin,

We feel that the organization of the summary is not smooth.

    1. Completeness in expression:
In line 6: "Neo claimed that when being asked of the outcome..." > What outcome?

    2. Grammar:
In line 4 : "animals were risk" > animals were at the risk of ...
In line 8: "... start and end of work" > start to end of work.
Last line: "impact and to clear the ... " > "and" not necessary.
